Getting started

Okay. So I am new to this blogging. I've never been big on reading them, even when Victor had one. But a friend turned me onto to them as a great way to communicate with friends and family(Thanks Alyson!)

Let's see how consistent I can be. LOL

March has been a month of unpacking and settling as we have moved into a bigger house. Almost all the boxes are unpacked, and the house is mostly organized. We are now less than a half a mile from the school allowing the kids to walk and Victor to take the car to work. We have cut back tremendously in our gasoline bill now that I am no longer having to take him to work and drive the kids to & from school. I was driving about 100 miles a day and spending about 3 hours a day in the car. So this is very much a welcome change.

We have moved into a beautiful gated community with lots of kids, a great playground, pool, tennis courts and clubhouse that has a gym, dance studio, and game room. Although the yard is small, we have just enough room to set up the trampoline Santa brought for Christmas.

The weather here is perfect this time of year. It is in the low 70s to low 80s most days w/ a nice breeze, and low humidity. Wish you all were here!

Saturday morning the kids hunted for the Easter eggs that the Easter bunny hid. In the afternoon was the neighborhood's annual Easter egg hunt. It was almost cancelled on account of rain, but went on despite the downpour. The kid's also enjoyed seeing the Easter bunny at the clubhouse and watching the magician who came. Later, high on lots of sugar, they bounced on the trampoline in the rain.

The best part of the day was during the egg hunt. Isabella only got 5 eggs. She was feeling quite disappointed that she didn't get as many as some other kids when she saw a litte girl who had found any. She went right up and gave one of hers to this little girl. She then gave one to a little boy who hadn't found any either. It made her so happy and, of course, she immediately stopped feeling sorry for herself. Later in the car, she told me it was just like the story (in this month's) in the Friend magazine we had read a couple days earlier about the boy who had given his eggs to two blind little boys who weren't finding any at their egghunt. Isabella did point out that the kids she had given her eggs too were NOT blind. But that the big kids had taken all the eggs.

When we returned home, we put all the eggs everyone had collected into a pile and distributed them evenly. Everyone ended up with 6 eggs. Bella was pleased. She had done something very generous and in return God had blessed her by giving her more than she originally had. What a great lesson for her to learn!
