Spring Break

School's out for the week. We have no plans to go anywhere exotic. The kids are getting lots of sleeping in time. Today, we went to watch the replica ships La Nina and La Pinta sail into the harbor. We took our lunch and ate at the top of the Roosevelt bridge in Stuart waiting to see the ships come in. After waiting & watching for almost an hour, we spotted them turning out of the intercoastal waters toward the marina. The wind was blowing very strongly from the wrong direction, so the ships had their sails up and were moving under the power of electric motors. When they finally arrived, La Nina shot off a cannon, a traditional salute when coming into port. (If you double click on the picture, it will open up larger.)
