Wednesday, we all went up to eastern Tennessee. Bailey Consulting Group (my brother-in-law's company Victor's involved with) had some business up there and since they were taking their kids, Victor wanted us to go too. So we piled into our van and they into their SUV and we drove up. While they(Jesse, Marcia, Victor & Chele) were off with the clients, I got to play babysitter. We took the kids to a pool to play in, which after hours on the road was great for them. It had lanes to swim in, which was where Monica & Bella spent most of their time, and this great water basketball set up.
The next day we spent on a pontoon boat on a private lake nestled between the mountains. It was so nice out. It was really windy, but with no humidity or crocodiles to worry about, we had a great day.
After a couple hours out on the lake, there was the challenge of tether ball!
And the kids found fresh water mussels...
On the way home, we stopped in Atlanta. It's a beautiful city. The Olympic torch is right off the freeway. We stopped for lunch at the Varsity, an old college restaurant Jesse had seen on the Food Network and wanted to check out. The tall building here is the Westin Peachtree Hotel. You can still see window out from the tornados that hit the city back in March.
Afterwards, we went to the Victor's favorite TV network building, CNN. Inside was fun to look around. A shop geared toward all the children's channel, Cartoon Network attracted the kids while the adults checked out the rest of the place.
Just a couple blocks from the CNN building is the Olympic Park.
The city has a wonderful Olympic Symbols interactive water fountain which we stopped to play in.
